Why not take a trip to the most beautiful avenue in the world - Les Champs Elysées, located in the 8th arrondissement in Paris. Created in 1616, it was transformed by André Le Nôtre, Louis 14th's landscape architect, in 1670. It was named Champs-Elysées in 1709 after the Greek underworld where heros and virtuous souls lie according to Greek mythology. The avenue which runs for just under 2 km and is 71 m wide, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Paris linking the Place de la Concorde to Place Charles-de-Gaulle (formerly Place de l'Etoile). This lively avenue is lined with luxury boutiques and shops.
